Distance Learning Programme

Distance_Learning

The Distance Learning Programme exists for those who are not able to come to the Bible Institute’s campus for some or all of their studies. It is particularly suitable for those already in full time employment, yet who desire to grow in the knowledge of the Lord and His Word, and to serve Him more effectively.

The programme is largely similar to the degree programme offered on campus, although it may be studied over a period longer than three years.

Study Programmes

In order to meet the different situations and needs of students, the programme offers two study options:

  • Bachelor in Theology (BTh - offered in conjunction with North-West University)
  • Diploma in Christian Ministry (DCM)

Course Work

Courses may be taken in any order, provided there are no prerequisites. Students have one year to complete each course, from the date of registration for that course.

Class attendance

Owing to North-West University regulations, all distance students registering for the BTh degree are strongly recommended to attend the on-campus inter-semester course, or at least two Saturday seminars, per year, in their final three years of study. DLP students may also arrange to take other courses on campus as credit.

Entrance Requirements

Applicants for the BTh are required to have Matriculation Exemption (or its equivalent), Conditional Matriculation Exemption or Mature Age Exemption. To apply for the DCM, the requirement is a Grade 10 pass, or its equivalent.

In keeping with the distinctives of the Bible Institute, applicants must be Christians of reasonable maturity and in good standing with their local church.
