BISA Projects

Covid 19 Fund

Can BISA survive Covid-19?

We asked this question at the beginning of the outbreak and we said 'Yes, and this is solely because the Lord is faithful to His work'. And so at BISA we continue to teach (fully online at present) and to encourage and mentor one another in the Hope we have in Christ. But  in line with so many other PBO's in South Africa, our donor support income has diminished. Will you consider partnering with our student work and assisting our staff who have been sent home?  We also want to continue with our Prison Ministry, our Distance Learning Programme and our Leadership training programme on the Cape Flats, as resources allow. Thank you for your donation which will help us to keep on training men and women in Gospel ministry

Support the College

As far as running costs go, our college needs are modest, but they are also recurring. Student Fees at BI are relatively low and only cover a small percentage of college expenses.  Your donation to the BISA General Fund enables us to pay the rates, keep the lights on, maintain the campus and improve our technology so that we can concentrate on our training mandate 'To Know Christ And To Make Him Known'

Our desire at BI is to see men and women trained in Gospel Ministry, then to see them thrust into a needy and fallen world as salt and light.  Starting in 1923 we have trained several thousand students who have gone to serve the unevangelised, as well as the Church, in foreign fields, in areas of persecution, schools & hospitals, prisons, night shelters and in every corner of society.

Thank you for helping train harvest workers at the Bible Institute.

Support a BISA Student

The challenge of living in Africa means that many students come to college with limited income to cover their costs. We do not want to turn away a student who shows great potential, but the reality is that we often have to do this. It is never a quick or easy decision for us. With a robust Bursary Fund, having identified capable students, BISA can offer them world-class tuition together with clean, basic accommodation, and all within the African budget.   Your support will expand our capacity to train men and women for ministry.

Recording for Africa

Will you help us to convert our campus garage into a recording studio?    We want to write and record relevant material for our distance learning students. With it, we can reach hundreds of men and women who already want to be trained in gospel ministry. This will be African training for Africa, using contextually appropriate material.

Underground Water Supply

It's been the Western Cape's worst drought in history and water has become very valuable!  The college, like everyone else uses Cape Town municipality water, and it's not cheap. As we have many live-in students as well as several families with children on campus, we initiated the project by drilling for water, in our case eighty metres deep. The water is being used on campus, but not for drinking.  Your donation to this project will enable us to set up a purification system that will make this water potable. Once that is done we can reallocate our current monthly water bill towards students' training. A donation given to this project is not just towards a bore-hole, it's towards helping us to train men and women in Ministry.

BISA Library Upgrade

Access to international resources is critical in a Bible College. BISA has taken a yearly subscription with EBSCO, offering our students over 200,000 electronic resources. We strive to provide well equipped venue for study and research, where student’s horizons are stretched in an atmosphere of quality scholarship and reflection.  A donation made to this project is an investment in the lives of students and those whom they will serve. It will enable us to train students who desire 'To Know Christ and to make Him Known'.
