International Students
Thank you for your interest in studying at BISA
The Bible Institute of South Africa welcomes students from all around the world and we hope you will come and join us! Please take careful note of the application process outlined below. We recommend starting the process a minimum of 4 months prior to coming to ensure enough time to receive your student visa.
The academic year runs from January to November and has two semesters. Students may request to join the course in the second semester (July).
Step 1
Complete the Application to the Bible Institute of South Africa. You will need to be accepted at BISA before you can apply for your student visa.
English Proficiency
A student who is resident in a country where English is not an official language, will be required to show evidence of their written and spoken English proficiency.
Proof of funding
A student must prove their ability to cover the costs of tuition, residence, and all living expenses for at least one academic year before an acceptance letter can be issued by BISA for the purpose of securing the study visa.

Step 2
A non-SA student residing outside of South Africa must apply for a study visa from the South African Embassy or Consulate in their home country before travelling to South Africa. The permit must state that studies will be done at the Bible Institute of South Africa.
When applying for the permit a student will be asked to submit a general certificate of health as well as proof that they have sufficient funds to cover health costs in South Africa – the South African Consulate will supply full details on application.
International Student Fees
The Bible Institute does not discriminate on the grounds of race, colour, nationality or ethnic origin, gender, disability or age. However, in keeping with the practice in many South African academic institutions, international students (excluding those from Africa) are required to pay increased tuition fees.
