
Christian Leadership Programme (CLP)
The Christian Leadership Programme (CLP) is especially designed to help church leaders become better equipped in understanding and handling the scriptures and to be relevant and effective in their leadership roles. Our desire is to develop godly men and women who live and love for the glory of God so that may have the maximum impact on their churches and communities.
Duration:
Three years part-time. 300 course hours.
Lectures are given once a week in the evenings or Saturday mornings for 8 weeks during the school term at different locations. In addition, half-day Saturday Seminars are given at intervals each term.

Mode of Instruction:
Classes are held in person at selected locations in Cape Town or the course can be completed online.

Assessment:
Assessment includes written assignments, practical ministry demonstrations, peer and supervisor evaluations, and personal reflections.
​
Course Lecturers:
Course lecturers are experienced pastors and ministry leaders, biblical scholars and theologians, and leadership development specialists.
​
CLP Certificate:
Students who complete all the courses and achieve 300 course credit hours will graduate and be awarded a Christian Leadership Programme Certificate. This programme is not accredited.
​​​Entry Requirements:
No minimum academic requirement. Students should be in good standing with their local church and be able to demonstrate the ability to grasp the course content, reflect on it critically, apply it to life and ministry, and communicate it effectively. Students will be expected to attend all lectures.

Programme Structure:
​A certificate is awarded to students who complete all of the following modules. The number of hours for each course is shown. Each course is usually covered over 8 weeks.

Term 1: Introduction and Principles for Biblical Interpretation. 20 Hours

Term 2: Understanding the Old Testament I: Pentateuch. 20 Hours
​
Term 3: Christian Foundations I: Doctrine of God, Man and Sin. 20 Hours
​
Term 4: Understanding the New Testament I: Intertestamental Period and the Gospels. 20Hours
Year 2
Term 1: Christian Foundations II: Doctrine of Salvation. 20 Hours

Term 2: Understanding the Old Testament II: Prophets. 20 Hours
​
Term 3: Understanding the New Testament II: Pauline Epistles. 20 Hours
​
Term 4: The Christian Leader’s Life and Work. 20 Hours
Year 3
Term 1: Christian Foundations III: Doctrine of the Church. 20 Hours

Term 2: Introduction to Biblical Missions, Evangelism and Discipleship. 20 Hours

Term 3: Understanding the New Testament III: General Epistles. 20 Hours
​
Term 4: Understanding the Old Testament III: Poetry and Wisdom Literature. 20 Hours
Saturday Seminars
There are eight compulsory Saturday Seminars offered each year in a three-year cycle which make up an additional 60 hours of classroom teaching.
Each seminar is 4 credit hours (2 hours of attendance and 2 hours for the completion of a homework assignment).
Saturday Seminars may include: Book of Acts, 2 Corinthians, Strategic Faith Planning, Biblical Counselling, Counselling, Discipling the Family, Isaiah, Romans, Ephesians, Psalms, The Bible, Book of Revelation,
