
Bachelor of Theology Honours
The BTh Honours degree programme is primarily designed to stimulate independent research and critical reflection culminating in the submission of a compulsory mini dissertation in a chosen field of study. The course will also prepare the student to enter a master’s degree in theology.

Duration:
One year full-time. Two years part-time.
120 credits.

Mode of Instruction:
Instruction follows a blended model that includes a two-week intensive contact session at the beginning of the academic year, followed by remote self-study for the remainder of the year. The role of the lecturer is primarily to manage the learning process.​​​​​
Entry Requirements:
The minimum requirement for entry into the BTh Honours programme is a BTh undergraduate degree with a minimum average of 70%.

The Bachelor of Theology Honours is accredited by the Council on Higher Education (CHE) and registered by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) The completed course is at
National Qualifications Framework level 8
Programme Structure:
​A student is required to complete Course Work (80 credits) consisting of the following compulsory modules and two electives and a Research Component (40 credits) culminating in a mini dissertation. The number of credits for each course is shown.
